This black tea is made from hand-picked, whole-leaf, naturally farmed Four Seasons Spring cultivar. It has bolder character than other small-leaf black teas, yet with a complexity that sets it apart from large-leaf Assam varieties. The source for Four Seasons is distinctive for a couple of reasons. First, it is organically grown, without the use of chemical fertilizers which tend to produce a more "artificially" enhanced flavor. Second, the Fours Seasons of Spring cultivar is by nature exceptionally fragrant, with pronounced floral notes. While the typical processing results in an oolong, the innate flavor profile comes through in the black tea as well.
